Antisocial behaviour can have a significant impact on people’s quality of life, making individuals feel unsafe in their homes, neighbourhoods and town centres. The Commissioner has made tackling antisocial behaviour a key priority within the Police and Crime Plan and is working with partners across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to deliver long-term solutions.
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) supports a range of initiatives aimed at both preventing antisocial behaviour and responding effectively when it occurs. This includes investment in high-visibility patrols, town centre safety initiatives, Street Focus projects, community safety partnerships and services that support victims and communities affected by persistent antisocial behaviour.
Recognising that antisocial behaviour often has complex causes, the Commissioner is also investing in early intervention, youth outreach programmes and community-based projects that seek to prevent problems from escalating into more serious offending. By bringing together police, local authorities, schools, businesses and community organisations, the OPCC is helping create safer places where people can live, work and visit with confidence.
