LCJB Annual Plan

The LCJB annual plan contains the aims and governance of the Board  and  its  priorities and actions that  will be progressed through an appropriate lead agency.

LCJB Priorities and Actions

The Board meet for an annual planning day once a year and agree the priorities for the coming 12 months and review the work delivered for the previous year. They will set new objectives and actions, which the LCJB subgroups will work to deliver with partners. 

The priorities for 2025/2026 are:

  • Ensure efficient and effective criminal justice
  • Keep victims engaged to secure justice
  • Address disproportionality

Local Criminal Justice Board – Collective Focus 2025–26

Priority 1: Ensure efficient and effective criminal justice

  • Improve timeliness for child cases through Child First Oversight Group – Lead: CPS (Vicky Cook)
  • Ensure Out of Court Resolutions are used appropriately with transparency and learning – Lead: Police (James Vaughan)
  • Improve targeting of repeat prolific offenders with a neighbourhood IOM focus – Lead: Police / Probation

Priority 2: Keep victims engaged to secure justice

  • Improve collaboration through co-location of services – Lead: OPCC / Police / HMPPS
  • Strengthen governance of Victim and Witness services – Lead: OPCC (Alison Hernandez)
  • Develop a restorative justice approach addressing community cohesion – Lead: OPCC

Priority 3: Address disproportionality

  • Identify best delivery model for specialist courts supporting women
  • Address root causes of hate crime and prevent reoffending
  • Increase transparency and awareness of disproportionality through criminal justice data
